
Today, 7.11.2025, marks 30 years since the Srebrenica Massacre. Solidarity with the Bosnian people, including the fallen, their friends and loved ones, and the over 2.2 million displaced.
The conventional way of teaching data visualization goes like this: tables of numbers are boring and hard to process; graphs and charts are easier to interpret and reveal the “true scale” of a phenomenon. But this table, developed by prosecutors in the trial against genocidal war criminal Ratko Mladić, showing population census data before and after his troops stormed the villages surrounding Prijedor, shatters that simplistic view with its hauntingly visceral account of genocide and forced displacement.
